Website engagement
Measure content engagement beyond pageviews
Build a useful measurement plan for articles, guides and resource pages.
A pageview proves that a page loaded; it does not prove that an article helped someone. Choose content signals that connect reading with the reader’s next useful step.
Define what success looks like
For educational content, success may mean a reader reaches a relevant guide, signs up for a useful resource or returns later with a more specific question. For product documentation, it may mean completing setup without contacting support. Decide the intended job for each content group instead of assigning every article the same conversion target.

Try Alexander freeChoose observable signals
Useful signals can include qualified onward clicks, search refinement, key page visits and eventual conversions. Scroll depth can show whether a section is reached, but should not stand in for understanding. Where your tracker cannot observe an action today, do not pretend it can; plan explicit, privacy-respecting event measurement before reporting it.
Learn at the cluster level
Compare related pages in a topic cluster to see which questions attract the right audience and which pages help them move forward. A page with fewer visits can still be valuable when it assists high-intent decisions. Refresh a section when behaviour and customer questions show a real gap, not just because the URL is old.
