Funnels and conversion paths
Micro-conversions: measure progress before the sale
Choose meaningful early actions that help diagnose long or complex buying journeys.
When a purchase is rare or delayed, intermediate actions can show whether visitors are progressing. A micro-conversion is useful only when it is plausibly connected to a later outcome.
Select actions with a clear relationship
Examples include requesting a quote, viewing implementation details or starting a trial. Choose actions that signal a real step in the buyer’s decision, not every interaction that is easy to count. State whether it is a diagnostic signal or a formal business goal.

Try Alexander freeConnect progress to eventual outcomes
Follow cohorts from the early action to qualified pipeline, activation or purchase where your data and privacy rules permit. An action that increases while sales quality drops is not progress. Long sales cycles require patient comparisons and alignment with the team that sees what happens after the website.
Use the signal to improve the next step
Ask what information or reassurance a person needs after taking the action. For example, a pricing interaction may be followed by a clear explanation of setup and a low-pressure route to questions. Compare the rate of relevant next actions and avoid turning a helpful resource into a forced gate.
